The Educational Benefits of Twitter

Twitter is not just for teenagers anymore.  Professionals have found all kinds of ways to put Twitter to use in their careers.  For teachers, the powers of Twitter seem endless.  Fellow educators consistently post links to interesting articles, blogs, and websites.  All of which contain tips and tricks to engaging students and helping them learn.  Some of the best things that I’ve discovered when exploring different links are the multitude of tutorials available.  Anything that an educator would like to do but doesn’t know how can be found easily and usually through your Twitter contacts.  Step-by-step information on how to create your own website, blog, or animoto presentation can be found with just a click of the button.  Knowing that these resources exist is hugely comforting to an educator that learned to type on a typewriter and never touched a computer until her senior year in high school!
